Storyboard

This is a storyboard combined with the shot types thought by me, Grace and Matthew. We focused on three different locations we thought were ideal for our music video. Grace drew shot types for the graffiti wall location, Matthew did the street and I did the park. Together we thought of ways to combine our shots together to make a storyboard.
Below is an animatic showing how we visualise our music video, we included our shots to show how our storyboard will look like if it was brought to live. There are more shots in the animatic than the shots in our storyboard because the shots in our storyboard was based on performance. So as a group we discussed narrative ideas and ideal shots to repeat to make our animatic look like a realistic music video. We followed Brodwell and Thompson's graffic and rhytmic match theory to guide our editing.

8. Concept

Here are some concept ideas that I came up with individually Concept After making these suggestions, I later discussed with my group on a agreed concept for our Music Video. Below is a video demonstrating the concept ideas we made during our discussion.
Here is our concept mind map

20.Audience Research 2

I decided to make the questions at the beginning focus on how media products are distributed and promoted to consumers. By using social sites as examples for media promotion and the fact that the results showed that these sites were most effective in promoting and distributing media showed me the best ways to promote my music video. Social sites are the domineering feature of promotion as it is the easiest way to reach target audiences as the sites are openly used by everyone. Other questions I made explored the individual opinions and preferences of the audience. This helps to give a demographic view of the ages we should be targeting as they are more likely to listen and enjoy Alternative Dance.
My genre convention research revealed that there are several genres within music compared to film. Some genres within music are very similar to one another whereas others are drastically unique. Noticing that these genres are diverse I decided to write questions that focus specifically on Alternative Dance. I thought this would give a accurate depiction of what we need to focus on when we make this music video. If I asked for generatic expectations for a music video, and the respondent is most familiar with pop music videos and commonly sees montage editing in it. The respondent would recommend it as a necessary requirement for our music video even though our genre is different. So by asking questions that focus on Alternative Dance we get  a clear list of exceptions as opposed to a general view of what people expect to see in Music Videos. Here is a slideshow showing my results.

18. Advertisement Research

Researching into advertisements for my genre, I took notes on what made each advertisement significant.
